About Our University

Welcome to the Atlanta Alumni Chapter of Fayetteville State University National Alumni Association.

The chapter was established in 1980 under the leadership of James Smith Sr. (President), Linda Kingsbury (Secretary), Louis Vinson (Treasurer) and Chartered Members: Sam Arthur, James Autry, William Dancy, Roosevelt Forte, Paul Gerald, Jerry Jenkins, Angela Whitehead, Thomas & Belinda Williams, and Clyde & Shirley Wooten. We stand on the foundation and vision of these Alumni.

The Chapter has been and is currently an active and passionate supporter of the university and its alumni community. We are proud to be recognized as the “Flagship” Atlanta Chapter of the National Alumni Association, a testament to our commitment and dedication to the university’s mission and values. We strive to build a chapter of multi-generation of alumni to utilize all the skills, abilities, creativity, and vision to elevate Fayetteville State University National Alumni Association, Fayetteville State University, and our students.

Our History

the Atlanta Alumni Chapter of Fayetteville State University History

Over the years, our Chapter has organized and participated in numerous events and activities, ranging from fund-raising Galas, Giving Campaigns, Scholarships Drives, Membership Recruitment, College Fairs, Student Sendoff and Engagement, Voter Registration, Volunteer for Food Bank, participate in HBCU 5K Race/Walk, and various other activities. Our main focus has been on providing scholarships and financial support to students from the Atlanta area who attend Fayetteville State University. We are thrilled to have made contributions to the Fayetteville State University Scholarship Programs, helping many talented and deserving students to pursue their dreams and aspirations.

Our Chapter also takes great pride in the achievements of some of our outstanding alumni, including Lorrena Garcia-Bochas who participated in the past Ms. FSU Alumni contests raising funds for scholarships for students. Alumni, like Michael Randal who is actively engaged with our National Alumni Association to increase our giving and fundraising activities, and participation of our military and veterans. He also serves on the Board of Visitors of the Fayetteville State University, providing valuable assistance and feedback to Chancellor Allison. The Atlanta Chapter had the opportunity to host the Fayetteville State University National Alumni Association National Convention in Atlanta several years ago and was a very successful and exciting
convention.

Our mission is to elevate Fayetteville State University's profile and expand its reach to wider audiences, while also fostering a sense of community and empowerment among the Bronco family. We aim to promote the university's achievements, opportunities, and values to the public, and to create meaningful connections that benefit both the university and its stakeholders. Through our efforts, we strive to enhance the reputation and impact of Fayetteville State University, and to contribute to the success and well-being of its students, faculty, staff, alumni, and supporters.

We Promise to do all in our power to promote and advance the interest of the Fayetteville State University. We promise to be a worthy graduate of our Alma Mater by exhibiting high standards of integrity and competence. We pledge to give our time, talents, and financial support to assure the continued viability of the Fayetteville State National Alumni Association and Fayetteville State University.
